Delivery Driver / Yard Hand / Trade Assistant

Salary: $35 per hour

Key Responsibilities though not limited to:

• Delivery and collection of vehicles, trucks, and equipment as required.
• Delivery/collection of parts and general goods as required.
• Performing pre-start / vehicle checks and reporting basic maintenance needs to the Workshop Supervisor.
• Moving, organising, and loading/unloading materials, freight, plant equipment, or inventory within yards.
• Responsible for ensuring fleet have appropriate decals and adequate decal inventory and stock levels at all times.
• Sound experience and knowledge with computers and electronic devices such as; i-phones & tablets.
• Assist with on/off hire inspection as required to cover leave or peak periods.
• Assisting with vehicle cleaning & detailing as required to cover leave or peak periods.
• General workshop and yard duties including maintain cleanliness of workshop and yard presentation.
• Supporting tradespeople with basic mechanical tasks (under supervision).
• Handling tools and parts and preparing equipment for hire.

To Be Successful, You’ll Need:

• Previous experience in a driving and trade assistant role.
• HR licence (essential).
• Able to operate basic paperless electronic android freight tracking system.
• Forklift licence (preferred).
• Load Restraint Certificate (desirable).
• Drivers Medical less than 12 months (desirable).
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow WHS procedures.
• High level of accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Basic mechanical aptitude or experience assisting in a workshop.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong time management skills and capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within a small team environment.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
