MCWA is a non for profit community-based organisation providing essential in home aged care and community support services to elderly individuals across Victoria. Our culturally responsive services are delivered with care, compassion, and respect for the diverse needs of our clients, many of whom are from the Macedonian community.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a reliable and community-minded Driver to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support the delivery of our aged care programs by safely transporting clients and delivering meals across the northern suburbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 17 seat MCWA bus (Light Rigid license required) and a mini van (standard license)
- Transport elderly clients to and from social support programs and appointments
- Deliver prepared meals in accordance with cold chain requirements
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all passengers during transit
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance checks on vehicles
- Follow scheduled routes and timetables
- Provide culturally sensitive support, especially to Macedonian-speaking clients
About You
- Holds a valid Light Rigid (LR) driver’s licence and Driver Accreditation Certificate for Passenger Transport
- Has previous experience driving passenger vehicles, ideally within aged care or community transport
- Holds a current National Police Check and valid Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid certification (preferred but not essential)
- Macedonian language skills highly regarded
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A caring, patient, and respectful attitude towards the elderly
