Food Rescue Driver 

About the role:

We are on the look-out for confident and friendly drivers that are passionate about the community, sustainability and driving. The role will be based out of our new South East Hub. We are offering the role on a casual basis with potential opportunity to convert to permanent.

As a food rescue driver, you will spend the workday in our bright yellow van, collecting and redistributing good quality surplus food and delivering it to the various charities we serve around Melbourne, with a smile and compassion.

Our vans and trucks require a car licence only (no truck licence needed). Our onboarding process includes training on our safety systems, food rescue processes, and includes buddy shifts to get you ready for solo shifts. Our logistics team provides ongoing support in real time to help navigate each day’s food rescue run.

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to safely navigate around Melbourne and must hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence (auto car licence is fine)
• Be excited to foster relationships with people at your pick-up and drop-off locations, and educate and inspire behaviour change by talking about our work
• Be physically fit and be able to load and unload vibrant, nutritious food boxes (up to 15kg per box)
• Bring an energetic, proactive & friendly vibe to the team.
• MR licence ~ desirable
