About the Role

We are seeking someone enthusiastic and reliable to work as a sole trader for our business based across Fitzroy & Balaclava. The position is available for an Early Morning Transport Worker/Driver 30 – 40 hours per week (4-5 days) $35 – $40 per hour minus super. This includes early mornings and early knock offs with hours ranging from Start times of 4:00am – 6:00am, finish time between 14:00 -17:00. This role is semi flexible and offers room to grow within the company and opportunities for extra hours & overtime.

You’ll need to be someone who enjoys a challenge and is self driven, someone who seeks the satisfaction of completing a role on your own, and who is capable of adapting and pivoting to handle quick changes in routine. You will be reporting to the Fleet Manager Hesh, though this position will be a mostly self sufficient role. If you’re not physically & mentally robust this may not be the role for you. You will be covering early morning operations to ensure efficient deliveries of goods to our clients right across Melbourne.

Applicants must hold a valid car licence, be able to drive manual vehicles and must submit a Vic Roads Driving history report as well as a Police check.

Candidates must have an existing ABN at the time of application.

A minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience is required.

Key Duties

• Efficient inventory management; loading, unloading & picking up consignments.
• Practice safe driving and loading activities.
• Checking the vehicle is in good, safe working order.
• Complete paperwork accurately.
• Preserve a safe and clean work environment by keeping the van neat and tidy.

We are seeking a Delivery Driver to join our team at Richmond Oysters’ in Knoxfield. As a Casual Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering our premium seafood and other food products to our valued customers throughout the metropolitan area. With a focus on providing exceptional customer service, this role is crucial in ensuring our operations run smoothly and our clients receive their orders in a timely manner.

What you’ll be doing

1. Safely operating a delivery vehicle to transport seafood products to customers
2. Providing friendly and professional customer service to clients
3. Accurately picking, packing and loading orders for delivery
4. Maintaining the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the delivery vehicle
5. Adhering to all relevant road rules and safety regulations
6. Assisting with stock control and inventory management as required

What we’re looking for

1. A valid Australian driver’s licence (MR as a minimum) with a clean driving record
2. Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner
3. Excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
4. Familiarity with the local area and knowledge of efficient delivery routes
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
6. Previous experience in a delivery or courier role is highly regarded

Our client in Brooklyn is an independent not-for-profit organisation with 90 years’ experience providing food relief to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Currently they are looking for an on call van driver – auto, to assist with the delivery of food to schools.
To be considered for this role you must possess the following attributes:-

A full driving licence – auto is fine

Valid Working With Children Check

Clean driving record – willing to provide a recent report form VicRoads

Experience with customer facing delivery
